Legal: Terms of Use – API

These terms of use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of cookiedatabase.org (“the API”), provided by Complianz B.V. (“the Company,” “we,” or “us”). By accessing or using the API, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the API.

1. API Access

1.1 License: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Company grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, license to access and use the API solely for the purpose of providing accurate service and cookie descriptions, and regular updates regular with the Complianz plugin.

1.2 Restrictions: You may not:

a. Use the API for any illegal, or improper purpose.

2. Data Usage

2.1 Data Ownership: The data accessed through the API is licensed under Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International . You agree to abide by any terms and conditions imposed by the data source.

2.2 Data Privacy: Your use of the API may involve the collection and transmission of user data. 

We collect for research purpose:

– Cookie name 

– Domain on which the cookie is found 

– Plugin list found that domain

3. API Changes and Termination

3.1 Changes: The Company reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the API, or any part thereof, at any time without prior notice.

3.2 Termination: The Company may terminate your access to the API if you violate these Terms or for any reason the Company deems appropriate. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the API.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Ownership: The API, including all intellectual property rights, is and will remain the exclusive property of the Company.

4.2 Feedback: Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide regarding the API may be used by the Company without any obligation to compensate you.

5. Disclaimer of Warranty

The API is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The Company disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the API.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Dutch Law. By accessing or using the API, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
